A Tenant’s Guide to Property in Nuneaton

As Warwickshire’s biggest town, Nuneaton is a real hotspot with renters. It’s a welcoming, friendly location, with convenient transport links to Birmingham, Coventry and Leicester. It also has everything you need right on the doorstep, including green spaces, great schools, two shopping centres and a theatre.

If you’re thinking of renting in Nuneaton, here’s some information about the different types of available property, average rental rates, and the best places to start your search.

Property to rent in Nuneaton

Detached and semi-detached homes

Families are well catered for in Nuneaton, with plenty of spacious detached and semi-detached homes available to rent. The majority of these properties are modern, and usually come with a garden and a driveway. There are a few older houses on the market too – such as the 1920s and 1930s homes in Weddington and Bedworth, and the 1970s properties in locations like St Nicholas Park.

Tenants can expect to pay anything from £600 a month for a two-bedroomed semi-detached home, rising to £1,200 a month for a multi-bedroomed detached house.

Terraced houses

Terraced homes are always popular in Nuneaton. They not only offer great value for money; they’re also often situated near the town centre and train station. If you love Victorian properties, you’ll be spoilt for choice, as many of the terraced homes available to rent date from this era, and come with a wealth of period features. There are some excellent contemporary terraced homes on the market too.

Average rental rates for this type of property range from £495 to £850 a month, depending on the size and location.

There are lots of apartments to rent in Nuneaton. Most are in purpose-built blocks, though a few are in sub-divided older properties. Flats are sought-after in the town, as they’re competitively priced, and are usually situated close to the local amenities.

A studio or one-bedroomed flat is typically around £350 to £500 a month, while a contemporary apartment finished to a high standard usually costs about £600 to £650 a month to rent.

Best areas to rent in Nuneaton

Here’s a list of the best places to start searching for property to rent in Nuneaton:

The town centre

The town centre is ideal for commuters, as it’s only a short stroll to the station. All Nuneaton’s main shops, pubs and restaurants are right outside your front door too – which is a major draw. Start your search in areas like Market Place, Abbey Street or Queens Road.

Near Riversley Park

If you’re fond of green spaces, or just want to be close to somewhere where the children can blow off some steam, search in the roads surrounding Riversley Park. The streets leading off Church Street are popular with tenants, as are those off Attleborough Road.

The developments

There are plenty of excellent new developments in Nuneaton, with properties that offer easy access to the town’s amenities. Bermuda Park is a great example, and also has the advantage of having its own local train station.
