Over a couple of weeks in March, we held a 'Coat Drive' alongside Agents Giving to provide unwanted, wearable coats to the homeless. While many of us look at a coat as an item that is meant to keep us warm, cozy, and stylish, there are plenty of less fortunate people who don’t even have that basic necessity.
We were overwhelmed with the generosity of the locals with coats coming in to our head office in Nuneaton and also piling in through the doors of our Bedworth. We collected over 70 coats (along with a few scarves, socks and gloves!) which was incredible. The coats collected varied from men’s to women’s and even children. Once the Coat Donation came to an end, all the coats were sorted into piles and bagged up ready to be distributed.
We got in contact with The Salvation Army, in particular Neil and Rose based in Nuneaton. Neil and Rose were extremely helpful and took every single coat ready to filter out. They informed us they would distribute between Nuneaton and Bedworth and if there was any overflow, they would go further afar to Wellingborough which is incredible.
The Salvation Army is a Christian organisation and part of the universal Christian Church. Its message and the lifestyle it advocates are based on the Bible's teaching.
Neil, Rose and everyone at The Salvation Army would like to pass their thanks on to each and every single person who donated. Your donations really make a difference.
